Host a Workshop
Don’t see an upcoming workshop in your area? We can easily book one for your area if there is interest. Choose from one of the 3 offerings, or speak to Beth about the specific needs of your group. The “Effective Facebook for Small Business” workshop requires participants to have access to laptops and wi-fi – and we need room for working. Other workshops require a room with some chairs!
Workshops require a 10 person minimum registration in order to proceed. Please contact Beth to discuss flat-rates if you’re running an Antique show and would like to offer training for the vendors and dealers.
21st Century Marketing for Antique Dealers
A lot has changed in the world of marketing in the last few years. People are looking for businesses that provide events and services along with their products.
This is GREAT news for antique dealers!
Antique dealers are passionate about the stories and history of the items they encounter. Every dealer has their own area of expertise, and the nature of antiques means that every dealer’s stock is unique.
Combine these characteristics with a new focus on ‘green’, and a client-base looking for events and information – and we’ve got great potential to work together to increase interest in antiques and generate more business for the shops and appraisers on the Island.
21st Century marketing is about a lot more than using Facebook
- Create events your clients want to attend
- Get your message out through multiple channels
- Grow your business by sharing more of what you love
During this 2 hour workshop, we’ll cover recent trends in small business marketing and how this impacts your marketing strategies. Learn about how to integrate social media with other low-cost and free marketing tools. Maximize your efforts and marketing dollars with a few tips and tricks.
Boost Your Tradeshow Success
Your booth is your mobile store-front. With it, you have the opportunity to capture the interest of hundreds of potential customers during the show.
Are you making the MOST of your tradeshow booth?
As a vendor, you’re packing all of the activities required in the running of a store-front into the short time-frame of the show. It’s not enough to lug boxes and unpack, you must create an inviting store-front, engage customers and potential customers, create a connection, collect contact information and then follow up. I’m tired just from reading that sentence!
DON’T PANIC! For many of us, creating an effective tradeshow plan means that we have less work during the event – allowing us to relax just a bit and enjoy the show in a positive frame of mind.
- Is your booth inviting and appealing?
- How do you create a relaxed and engaging experience for tradeshow attendees – at least when they’re at your booth?
- Can you follow up with visitors to your booth after the tradeshow? If you already collect leads, do you follow up effectively?
During this 2 hour workshop, we’ll cover pre-show marketing and planning efforts, on-site booth set up and ‘manning’ techniques, lead collection and follow up. Maximize your efforts and marketing dollars learning and implementing a few tips and tricks.
Effective Facebook for Small Business
What is it about Facebook that attracts the ire of Antique Dealers? Learn how to use Facebook easily to engage customers and potential customers.
Stop avoiding technology! Get in on the Fun.
Facebook has undergone a number of changes since you may have last looked at it. Its set up is getting easier for businesses to use – and yet as a group Antique dealers are slow to adopt the platform. Even those who have are often not using it to their best advantage.
Your customers and potential customers are on Facebook – from young adults with a growing interest in the ‘Antiques are Green’ movement through to grandparents connecting with family. If you’re still ‘proudly’ proclaiming that you ‘don’t believe’ in Facebook, you’re headed the way of the other dinosaurs.
- Facebook business pages keep you-the-person separate from your business.
- Facebook demographics include EVERYONE from teens to grandparents. Existing and potential markets are on Facebook.
During this 2 hour workshop, we’ll get you registered with a personal profile and then get your business set up with an appropriate page. We’ll cover the basics of ‘liking’ other business pages and how to find and share antiquing information with your followers.
This workshop requires space with wi-fi access, and each participant needs to bring a laptop computer with them.
